You may have heard plenty about buying Bitcoin, but probably not as much about actually spending it.
Maybe your first exposure to Bitcoin was through news about its price or the latest controversy.
But Bitcoin was originally proposed as electronic cash that allows people to send money directly to one another without going through a bank.
So where can you actually use it?
There are merchants around the world that accept Bitcoin payments.
(Bitcoin merchant map → btcmap.org/map)
There are also businesses in Korea that accept Bitcoin.
One of them is Hyoja Cafe in Seochon, which we’ll be visiting for this meetup. We’ll order coffee and try paying for it directly with Bitcoin.
We’ll also ask the owner why they decided to start accepting Bitcoin and what the experience has been like so far.
After that, we’ll sit down with our coffee and have a casual but meaningful Bitcoin talk together :)
If you’re completely new to Bitcoin, you’re more than welcome to join. You can simply watch how a Bitcoin payment works and ask anything you’ve been curious about.
Boost is a community for young professionals in their 20s and 30s who are interested in Bitcoin.
We meet to experience Bitcoin together, learn from one another, and have conversations about it.
